Oil on Canvas - 40 x 50cm - Framed - 23 x 27 inches

A reference to the 2014 Scottish Independence referendum.

Two clowns - one Scottish, one UK, are trying to work together balancing on balls. They are surrounded by a media circus - the Scottish clown has the option of going it alone on the monocycle past the butterfly which is actually made of a very loose map of Scotland reversed on itself. This is to represent the fragility of the situation and that Scotland is looking at itself. The Scottish clown could make his way along the road to the rising sun or the setting sun - whichever you think the outcome would be. It is left to the viewer to decide.
